It needs to process audio in real time. It needs to work in a linux environment. Whatever the program though, there are a few basic requirements I have: Or it could work some other way, I don't know. I also have a webcam with an actually pretty good microphone positioned on the far side of the keyboard, that picks up much more of the key clicking than the cardioid.Ī solution could potentially use any of the second mic or directly processing the input events on my computer to potentially recognise keypresses, and either apply a filter specific to the keypress or just temporarily quiet the audio or something. I have one cardioid microphone that I position between my keyboard and myself. I have tried following the tips from How do I remove mouse click noise and How to Reduce Keyboard and Mouse Clicks, but I still get click noises in my audio stream, and I don't have a very large budget If I were to get the blue yeti, would I be able to avoid the same issues I had with the AT2020? Is it's cardioid setting harsher on background noise than the AT2020? And is there anything else I can do to eliminate loud background noise that is very close to the mic using the blue yeti? I'd like to hear opinions on this from people who know more about these kinds of microphones before I go spending over a hundred bucks on something that can't do what I need.I need to stream live audio from my desk while being able to use my computer at the same time. 
Now I know already that the blue yeti is a condenser mic, like the AT2020, but it has more options for tweaking gain and a selectable recording pattern, including a cardioid setting. It basically fixed a lot of my background noise problems but while I was having some rare troubles on stream, someone mentioned trying the Blue yeti.
I found a sort of solution in a cheap Pyle dynamic mic. The sound quality was crisp and clear on my own voice, but when the action heated up in game, the background noise got atrocious no matter how I tried to configure it (gain settings, noise gates, windows mic levels, etc). My first microphone i used for my streaming setup was an AT2020 cardioid condenser usb microphone with my speakers about 1 foot away on the Cardioid "blind spot". So I've been wrestling with the issue of severe background noise when streaming games with speakers instead of headphones, since I get very uncomfortable wearing things on my ears.
